summary:I am having a lot of trouble burning the downloaded isos to dvd, anyone who has had success, please provide the specific program, build, and settings they used, also my files say they are 4.1 and 3.12 gb, could they be corrupt?
details below
I can't get the ISO burn on the dvd, it says its successful on 4 different programs including Nero7 and sonic, when i put the "finished" dvd into the drive, it does not even recognize that there is anything in the drive, I even tried extracting the iso and burning the extracted files and running setup, which does not work, so then i thought the isos i had might somehow be corrupt or incomplete, so i downloaded both 32 and 64 biton a different computer on a different connection with a different download manager, and tried burning with the same results, plz anyone who has had success burning either the 64 bit i would really appreciate knowledge of a specific program, and what settings anyone had success with, and how big are your isos, mine say they are 4.1 gb for the 64 bit and 3.12 for the 32 bit, I fear I will have to resort to buying and waiting for the dvd, i am a disgrace to geek kind
-- I stalk computer info, and i breathe electrons, yes i am a geek

x86 - 3.12 GBs, so no problems there x64 - 4.4 GBs, so you have a problem there
I used NERO 6.6a burn my ISOs. Burning the ISO Image in NERO and Roxio Easy CD Creator: NERO Insert a Blank DVD, open Nero StartSmart > change the media type to DVD > select Copy and Backup > click "Burn Image to Disc" > navigate to where the Windows Vista BETA 2 Image is stored on your hard disk, (note: if you don't see it, make sure the image file type is changed to ISO" click Open and the burning wizard will automatically start.
Roxio Open Creator Classic > click File > "Record Disc from Image" > navigate to where the Windows Vista BETA 2 Image is stored >click Open and the burning wizard will automatically start.
try reburning the ISO at a low speed, 2x recommended, also do a CRC check on the ISO to find out its integrity. Nero MD5 Verifier is a recommended choice. If setup still fails, its likely a bad download.
I use the one from Ahead Nero http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_MD5_Verifier.html
Here are the MD5/CRC values for x86 or x64 depending on which every ISO you downloaded:
x86 - File Size = 3.12 GB (3,355,598,848 bytes) - CRC Value = 0x67E089E0 - MD5 Value = 0E733AB1A8E8FF9A8684FD3639332773 x64 - File Size = 4.01 GB (4,309,368,832 bytes) - CRC Value = 0x48697711 - MD5 Value = E43502D0A15EADD551119D5639859E04
Paste the MD5 Checksum for either x64 or x86 depending on which one you want check in Step 1, Step 2 - Browse to where you stored the ISO on your drive and open it and it will automatically start the varification process and generate the has in the third field, if it matches Step 1, then you are safe. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta
